Baltic Youth Conference

Since 1990 the Baltic Youth Office has organized an annual Baltic Youth Conference on behalf of the Regional Youth Council of Schleswig-Holstein and in co-operation with other youth organisations. About 40 youth work leaders from all countries around the Baltic Sea meet in Schleswig-Holstein to discuss and learn about certain topics of youth work and to share experience on different situations in youth work in the Baltic Sea region.

The conference has become an important contact forum and catalyst for youth work in the Baltic Sea region. All persons 18 years and older and active in youth work may participate. For more information please contact the Baltic Youth Conference.

Baltic Youth Conference 2006:

"Youth Unemployment and Mobility, Youth Employment Intitiatives and Integration"

The Baltic Youth Conference 2006 will take place from September 22-29, 2006 in the Youth Educational Centre "Haus Rothfos" in Mözen, Schleswig-Holstein. The topic will be "Youth Unemployment and Mobility, Youth Employment Initiatives and Integration". During the first half of 2006 the national youth councils in the Baltic Sea region will send out a call to member organisations and other youth structures to encourage projects working on this topic to apply for a youth competition, which will be organised by the Baltic Youth Forum, the Working Group on Youth Affairs and the Baltic Youth Office of the Regional Youth Council of Schleswig-Holstein. The projects will be asked to send in a project description to participate in the youth competition. A jury will decide on which projects shall be chosen as best-practice examples, these projects will be awarded prize money, the amount of which will be determined later. The projects entering the competition will be invited to take part in the Baltic Youth Conference to introduce their projects, to discuss networking and project management.

For more information please contact the Baltic Youth Office in Kiel.
